Next lady in our series about Danish singers, their style and musical influences is the talented Anna Brønsted from the band Our Broken Garden.
The Danettes: What is your favourite stage outfit?
Anna: My favorite stage outfit right now is a jumpsuit that a sweet and talented designer named Bodil Damgaard Møller made for me when we were to open the Spot Festival this year in Aarhus domkirke. It has one bare shoulder and fanciful pyramids on the other shoulder and on one hip. I think it's very exotic and makes me feel like going into another world when wearing it.
My all time favorite kind of clothes in general are jumpsuits. I love them! I feel practical and sensual at the same time in those garments : )
TD: Who is your favourite female singer and why?
Anna: My first crush on a lady was Diana Ross. She has such sensuality and strength in her voice. Later it was Kate Bush, courageous as she is in her expression, unaffraid of the unorthodox, powerful and very feminine at the same time. Also canadian folksinger Loreena Mckennit has touched me deeply, her expression is fragile as thin paper yet strong as a sword - and Elisabeth Fraser, who sings as the mermaid itself!
TD: Can you reccomend an artist or a band that our readers might not already know?
Anna: I think most Danes already know the band, but maybe some Berliners still don´t know them: The Late Great Fitzcarraldos. I think they are a really great band with very beautiful male vocals and some touchy songs.
Thank you so much Anna :-)
Later! Lady L
